Barack Obama declares he is a candidate for President of the United States.
United States Senator Barack Obama on Saturday February 10 declared before a crowd of 15 thousand people in Springfield Illinois that he is a candidate for President of the United States.
Michael McCafferty says: Barack Obama reminds me of John F. Kennedy with his youth and charisma. Senator Obama is going to make history and even though he is a 'liberal' I wish him the very best.

Prime Minister Harper vows to keep on criticizing China's human rights record.
HALIFAX — Prime Minister Stephen Harper ignored calls for a friendlier approach with China Friday, warning that country that it should consider its economic stake in Canada before making political threats about trade.
Harper also vowed to continue criticizing China’s human rights record.
