Prime Minister Harper is solid in support for Israel
TORONTO — Prime Minister Stephen Harper mounted a vigorous defence on Wednesday of his government’s Middle East policy.Speaking to a B’nai Brith dinner, Harper made no apologies for his government siding with the Jewish state during this summer’s fighting between Israeli troops and Hezbollah guerrillas.
“When it comes to dealing with a war between Israel and a terrorist organization, this country and this government cannot and will never be neutral,” Harper said in a speech to the Jewish human rights group.
“This position is rooted in what we have long stood for as a country.”
MICHAEL McCAFFERTY says: I admire Prime Minister Harper for having the courage and conviction to stand up for Israel. I am proud of Canada's Prime Minister.

One day..in about 1947, a bunch of folks in a country called Palestine woke up to find that their country had been erased , and was now called Israel.
They feel about the same as you and I would....had this happened here...IE...no more Nova Scotia...or ..Saskatchewan....it is now, Israel.
This is the elephant in the room nobody wants to talk about, when we discuss Middle East unrest.
The Arab world...or Muslim world is , quite understandibly, somewhat jaded, and bitter about how they have been shunted aside to suit a distant and foreign interest , totally ignorant and uncaring of their interests

So long as guys like Leftdog continue to chant that jingoism....there will be unrest. And nowadays, unrest means flying planes into large buildings in North America...and that sort of thing
If Israel wants to pitch their tent in the middle of the Arab World....they (and their sponsors) are going to make it worth the Arab World's while....and they have not done that

As I've tried to say....this activity is not about Israel ...so much as what Israel, and their sponsors have done, and continue to do to the Arab people.
If the State of Israel and their sponsors want peace in the Middle ?East....they have to 'make nice' to the Arab world......The sure brute force of the West sponsored Isralie Military has got them nothing but more and more bombs and dead people....and that violence has spread...to Europe and North America.....Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again...and expecting a different out come
