Singapore executes Australian for drug trafficing

CNN -- Singapore's government hanged an Australian man for drug trafficking early Friday.

Michael McCafferty comments:

I believe it is barbaric and uncivilized that Singapore uses capital punishment for those who traffic in illegal drugs. I believe in very tough laws to punish drug dealers but I do not believe the death penalty should be used.

Australia does not have capital punishment and I agree with the Australian Attorney General Philip Ruddock who called the hanging "barbaric."
