I read your blog on Deep Throat.My opinion:
While Watergate was a dark day in American politics,it was only dark as they were caught.These things happen all the time.The Democrats,ie Kennedy,Clinton et al at least have been spared by similar Deep Throats.The recurring theme I heard on TV tonight was: if Deep Throat felt so bad about it,he should have turned his info over to the prosecuters.As Buchanan stated: as he was not member of the Republican Party,he cannot be treated as a traitor.But he is a louse non-the-less.Others berated him for his motivation,as revealed in Vanity fair...that he was peeved by not getting the appointment he wanted.Others remarked his hidden identity all these years: obviously his involvement is nothing to be proud of.
Others who vehemently disagreed with Nixon had the courage to stand up publicly...John Dean....and endure the consequences.
Watching MSNBC...Deep Throat revealed...the guy who ratted on Nixon...On the panel,and with reason,he is now viewed as a traitor...afterall,he was on Nixon's payroll...Now,after asking the right questions: what was his motive ? He was pissed off at Nixon for not giving him the top spot at the FBI. So he brought down the President.WHat a joke.What a pathetic fool.
