Former presidential candidate Sen. John McCain made his way to Austin this weekend.

A huge crowd gathered at BookPeople on Lamar Boulevard Sunday to get a chance to snap pictures and get an autographed copy of his new book.

McCain says that his new book, Character is Destiny, takes issues that we look at today and tries to make sense of it all.

"We think that young people are exposed to a lot of influences today, and sometimes they confuse celebrity with heroes. They confuse Terrel Owens with Pat Tillman, and we want them to know the difference," McCain said.

The senator is an author of three New York Times bestsellers.
